This article first appeared in Warbirds International in Volume 12, Number 1 (Jan/Feb 1993). It was based on correspondence with Tony Speir, curator of Aviation of the South African National Museum of Military History, starting in 1984 and lasting until 1993. We have not heard from anyone at the Museum since then, and can only hope that things there continue to go well. Read on and enjoy!
